We’re Hiring: Head of Global PR and Communications

To strengthen our voice on the world stage, we’re looking for a Head of Global PR and Communications. This person will lead our communications and public relations strategy across all markets.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for both external PR and internal communications. As a key point of contact for global media relations, corporate storytelling, and reputation management, you will be instrumental in shaping how our story reaches journalists, industry experts, and influencers, while supporting Polar’s subject-matter experts and leaders to act as the primary voices of the brand.
As Head of Global PR, you’ll shape and deliver Polar’s PR strategy, ensuring our message is consistent, trustworthy, and impactful wherever it’s heard. You’ll collaborate with our regional and local PR teams, partner agencies, and senior leaders to turn our priorities into compelling stories that connect, while also building strong relationships with key media contacts and helping to position Polar as a leader in the industry.

What You’ll Focus On
Take the lead on global PR and media relations, finding and sharing our best stories
Develop and refine Polar’s corporate narratives and key messages
Guide and support our regional PR teams, agencies, and freelancers and making sure we’re all on the same page
Collaborate closely with our industry partners, working in tandem with their communications teams to align messaging and maximize the visibility of our joint offerings, especially in B2B channels. You’ll ensure Polar’s value is recognized across the industry by elevating partnership stories and showcasing the impact we create together.
Plan for and manage crisis communications, so we’re ready for anything
Help top management with media interviews, speaking events, and internal updates
Set clear goals and measure the impact of our PR efforts. We’re looking for someone who knows exactly which key metrics matter and can make bold, data-driven decisions to continually sharpen how we work.
Keep our communications consistent, credible, and well-aligned, inside and out.
Place a special emphasis on strengthening internal communication by developing and implementing strategies that promote clarity throughout the organization.
Take initiative in enhancing internal communications across all levels of the company.
Collaborate closely with colleagues from HR, Finance, R&D, Research, and other key departments to keep everyone informed, engaged, and aligned with Polar’s goals.

Who We’re Looking For?
We’re searching for a senior PR leader who brings:
Demonstrated success in global or international PR and media relations, with a proven track record in corporate communications at director or head level.
A proven track record managing agencies and working with international teams
Great storytelling and writing skills, with an eye for what makes a message stick
Extensive experience in reputation management and crisis communication, with a proven history of leading global PR initiatives and successfully handling high-stakes issues at director or head level.
The ability to connect, align, and inspire people across different regions and backgrounds
A mindset for continually developing new approaches to PR, drawing on a broad arsenal from digital PR to in-person moments, and the creativity to build strategies that genuinely cut through.
Exceptional proficiency in both spoken and written English is essential, with near-native fluency required. Candidates must demonstrate outstanding communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in Finnish is also strongly preferred.
Demonstrates proficiency in identifying newsworthy stories and translating them into effective public relations strategies and initiatives.
A strong understanding of what shapes visibility in the age of AI, and how PR’s role is evolving as audiences, search, and discovery shift.
To be considered for this role, candidates must be based in Helsinki, Finland other Polar offices can be considered. Our global PR leadership position is closely tied to our Helsinki office, ensuring direct collaboration with our executive team and alignment with our company’s strategic direction.
