KEMPELE, FINLAND – January 8, 2025 – Polar Electro, a global leader in sports technology and wearable solutions, has announced the release of a new set of features and improvements for its flagship sports watches, Polar Grit X2 Pro and Polar Vantage V3. The Software Release 3.0 introduces more customization options, improved navigation features, new capabilities, and smarter functions.
Introduced last year with the launch of the Polar Vantage V3, Maps now receive a major upgrade with the inclusion of points of interest (POI). This enhancement allows users to easily identify key landmarks during outdoor workouts, such as shelters, supermarkets, cafés, and more.
In addition to improvements to navigation, outdoors enthusiasts can now embark on multi-day adventures without worrying about battery life, thanks to the new Charging During Training feature.This allows users to charge their watch while their workout is either or active—a game-changer for ultrarunners who will now be able to record runs that last multiple days and even weeks. A quick 20-minute charge provides up to 10 additional hours of training time with GPS and heart rate monitoring enabled.
The Software Update 3.0 brings a more comprehensive and convenient pre- and post-training experience with updates to the pre-training and training summary views. After outdoor workouts, users can relive their session and see their route directly on their watch. Swimmers will also benefit from detailed data, with a breakdown of swimming styles displayed immediately after a pool session.
Smarter functionsÂ
Additional updates are designed to enhance the experience of wearing the watch around the clock. The Find My Phone feature shows the last synced location of the phone on the user’s watch map and lets them play a sound on their phone when it’s within Bluetooth range.
With customizable watch faces and widgets, users can make a Polar Watch their own and have access to the most common functions. With Software Release 3.0, users will get more personalization options with two new analog and three new digital watch face layouts.

Software Release 3.0 is available to all Polar Grit X2 Pro and Polar Vantage V3 users today through the Polar Flow app. The same update will be released for Polar Vantage M3 and Polar Ignite 3 in Q2 2025*.
